Hello!! I am Anastasia Martinez, a stay-at-home Mom of 9, Grandma of 6 (with another on the way), a health enthusiast, and in 2023 I became certified as a Birth Doula! And I have long loved to journal. It is actually pretty hard for me to stop writing once I get started. So, I started this blog hoping to use it to share about how Shaklee had become a majorly beneficial part of my overall health and that of our family. I felt very blessed by having Shaklee in my life and decided I should try to give back to others who might not know about Shaklee. At the time, I had been using Shaklee products for 6 years and it had become my “go to” brand for Supplements, Weight Management, Sports Nutrition, Cleaners, Skin Care, and Body Care. I have now been nourishing my body with Shaklee for 16 years. I am part of the Shaklee community of ‘Generation Health.’ We are people from all walks of life who love living nourished lives and I invite you to become part of it too.
I had grown up in the 70’s and 80’s with my Mom using Shaklee’s Basic H (“H” for Household) as her all time favorite window cleaner (and it does so much more…depending on the concentration). And my Mom had even given me Basic H as a wedding shower gift in the mid 90’s. My basic H supply was running low, and I didn’t want to run out and I didn’t know how to get more. It wasn’t until early 2009 that I learned that Shaklee had grown and that it was now easier to order because of the Internet. Initially, I had just wanted to get more Basic H, until I realized that Shaklee now had a whole line of non-toxic cleaners. Frank and I determined to rid our home of toxic chemical cleaners and replace them with Shaklee’s awesome, green “Get Clean” products and we have happily used them ever since because they work and they keep our house not just clean from dirt but clean from toxins. At the time we switched, even our children noticed that our drinking glasses didn’t smell like chemicals anymore when they came out of the dishwasher, and I realized that I no longer had to hold my breath when I went to get laundry detergent for the laundry. However, it was because of my pregnancy with Nicolette (my 7th) that Shaklee’s nutrition actually got my attention. I was experiencing extreme fatigue which had continued into my second trimester, which I knew was not normal. I was taking a multivitamin, but through the suggestion of a Shaklee friend, I decided to give some of Shaklee’s supplements a try, and I was amazed!!! I had never thought that taking a multivitamin did much. I was a firm believer of “I will get my vitamins and minerals from my food.” But, within a week of taking a few Shaklee supplements, I was no longer clinging to the bed every morning, too tired to get out and do much of anything. Believe me, I was super conservative with what I took. I even took Dr. Shaklee’s original liquid multivitamin (LiquiLea) which has fewer nutrients than the newer VitaLea multivitamin tablets or the newer MultiV drink. In addition to LiquiLea, I also took Shaklee’s B Complex, Osteomatirx (Shaklee’s Calcium/Magnesium), and Herblax (Shaklee’s herbal laxative). I could hardly believe what an improvement it gave me! In about a week, my fatigue was gone! With Shaklee Vitalizer, I never even got the typical “first trimester fatigue” with my subsequent pregnancies with Leo (my 8th) or Remi (my 9th). Today it is even simpler to get started with Shaklee’s personalized nutrition and Ready Set Wellness.
Not long ago, in trying to reassess my progress and goals of trying to help people with their health, I had realized that I had been neglecting this blog. I also had come to a realization that more than likely I have some level of ADHD, contributing to my tendency toward disorganization. I have tried to address detoxing from heavy metals and other positively charged toxins as a way to help me with this challenge. However, recently I became aware that I have IRLEN Syndrome and have tried different ways to address my light sensitivity. I truly hope that you find inspiration in this blog that makes you never want to give up on your health and your body’s amazing God-given abilities to heal itself when given good raw materials to nourish the life that you have been given.
