Pregnancy Nutrition Made Easy

A month ago, Shaklee’s Meology Prenatal rolled out in the U.S.  This is such a great new resource to today’s Moms and Soon-to-be-Moms.  If it had been available in 2009 when I was struggling with extreme fatigue in my second trimester of my seventh pregnancy, and I had a friend tell me about something called “Meology Prenatal”  and I had looked at it and seen that it had 1-2 tablets to swallow and the rest of the nutrients were in a drink and gelly format….I know I would have thought that was GREAT!  You see, I had a bad experience in high school with taking a lot of supplements and feeling sick from doing so.  It really turned me off of swallowing pills and supplements in general.  It was not until 2009 when a friend had told me about taking Shaklee during her most recent pregnancy and how it had been her best pregnancy ever that I decided to give Shaklee a try.  I was so tired of being tired that I figured it was worth a try.  And Shaklee surely got my attention very quickly.  Within a week of taking Shaklee’s Liqui Lea (instead of Shaklee’s Vita Lea because it meant 2 fewer tablets to swallow) and 3 other Shaklee supplements (B Complex, Osteomatrix, and Herblax: 8 tablets) the extreme fatigue lifted.  In developing a dedicated prenatal product, Shaklee focused on keeping tablets to a minimum.  That is definitely something that I can relate to.  Although, once I had the positive experience that I did with Shaklee, I started looking closer at the labels and saw that Vita Lea had more nutrients than Liqui Lea and so I transitioned to Vita Lea.  Essentially, Shaklee’s quality and effectiveness had cured me of my phobia of swallowing tablets.

With Shaklee Prenatal, Shaklee makes it easy for women to prepare for a pregnancy, support  a pregnancy, as well as support lactation after birth.  With our world today being so diverse, complex, and non-stop, we need things that help us simplify. Simplification is one way that I see Shaklee Prenatal will allow Shaklee to reach more women today.  Yes, Shaklee nutrition has been helping women during their childbearing for over 65 years now.  And it was simple for Shaklee to do that in the past, in the sense that there were not as many inferior products on the market confusing the matter, like there are today.  In fact, since Dr Shaklee’s Vitalized Minerals (later called Liqui Lea) was the first multivitamin, multimineral in the US., so over 100 years ago, there was no competition.  However, the scene has changed and there are so many “prenatal” supplement products, that women today are more apprehensive of using a product that isn’t a “dedicated” prenatal.  Shaklee has always been mindful of the changing needs of women at different phases of life. This is why they made Vita Lea  Women to always be a great Pre and Post Natal. Women who already knew Shaklee’s attention to quality easily understood this.  However, the challenge today is that there is an overload of products on the market so that when a woman becomes pregnant, and starts looking for how to best support her nutritional needs, they instinctively narrow their supplement search to “prenatals”.  I had taken Shaklee Vitalizer Women with my 8th and 9th pregnancies and was well supported.  But pregnancy is a special time and there are those special issues that many women encounter at different trimesters, so to have a product that allows flexibility, and essentially walks a woman through the different stages of childbearing, really makes me happy.  Pregnancy is a special time in a woman’s life and seeing how Shaklee has dedicated so much time and research to specially address the changing needs of a woman is truly admirable and heartwarming.  What better way to advance Shaklee’s Mission to Bring True Wellness to the world than to help more and more of the next generation get Shaklee’s exceptional nutrition right from the start of their life.
